Ms. Lea Curlee - EC Resource Teacher
Welcome back to a new school year at Central Elementary!
My name is Lea Curlee and I am one of the EC Resource Teachers here at Central. This will be my third year of teaching at Central, my 25th year of teaching in North Carolina. Until I came to Central, I had always worked with high school students at various schools throughout the state. I’ve taught in Roxboro, Raleigh, Lenoir, Greensboro, Charlotte, and finally, Stanly County.
I am married to Michael Curlee (who is also a teacher with Stanly County) and we have three children: Connor, Emma, and Jack. I am originally from a small town in Wilkes County. I obtained my BS in Special Education from Western Carolina University and then later returned to Appalachian State University to get my Masters Degree in Exceptional Children.
I look forward to another school year and I’m excited about the changes that are taking place within our school system. Working with all students, helping them become the best person they can be, is a goal I have each year. Teaching them strategies, modeling appropriate behaviors, and giving them the confidence they need to take chances at academic success, is something I strive for every day.
Please feel free to contact me whenever you have a question or concern about your child’s progress. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
